What type of backups do you take and how often?

We always strongly suggest that customers take an offline backup of their service if data redundancy is important to them.

Backup types and frequency vary depending on the service being used, see below:

Service

Frequency of Backups
Web Hosting 3 times daily, retained for 7 days
Reseller Hosting 3 times daily, retained for 7 days
Barebones VPS No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Control Panel VPS No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Managed VPS Daily with 7 recovery points

For Web Hosting and Reseller Hosting the backups are taken daily on the server itself. Additionally weekly backups are stored on a separate server with 2 recovery points.

For our VPS range of products the Idera Server Backups are taken daily and provide 7 recovery points. The storage is counted for each individual backup and not the total storage taken by all 7 backups. If this is not purchased backups are your responsibility.

For our Legacy Services the frequency of backups is below:

Service

Frequency of Backups
Cloud Web Hosting 3 times daily, retained for 7 days
Cloud Reseller Hosting 3 times daily, retained for 7 days
Blaze Cloud VPS (Linux) No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Blaze Cloud VPS (Windows) No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Linux VPS No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Windows VPS No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Forex VPS No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
Blaze PAYG Cloud No backups unless manually configured via OnApp
Dedicated Servers No backups unless Idera Server Backups is added
