Will my server reboot if I upgrade?

Depending on the upgrade that is performed your server with us may need to be rebuilt, rebooted or nothing may need to happen at all.

RAM/CPU/Disk upgrades Operating System Change IP Address addition
Linux VPS Reboot (1-2* Minutes Downtime) Rebuild (15 - 20 Minutes downtime + Data Loss) Reboot (1-2* Minutes Downtime)
Windows VPS Reboot (3-5* Minutes Downtime) Rebuild (20 - 30 Minutes downtime + Data Loss) Reboot (3-5* Minutes Downtime)
Web/Reseller hosting No Downtime N/A No Downtime
* This may be longer if the server forces a disk check to be run

In most cases adding an IP address to a Linux or Windows system shouldn't cause any disruption, however if our Cloud Management system isn't able to log in to your server it will force a reboot to allocate the additional IP, so it's best to plan for this rather than be caught off guard.
