How do I disable SSLv3 in Nginx?

The way to disable SSLv3 in Nginx is mostly the same across Operating Systems.

Centos 5, 6 and 7 +  Fedora + Debian + Ubuntu + Cloudlinux

  1. Connect to the server using SSH
  2. Open the following file using your preferred text editor
    /etc/nginx/nginx.conf

  3. Add the following line to your server directive (If you cannot find the server directive try editing files in /etc/nginx/conf.d/)
    SSLProtocol All -SSLv2 -SSLv3

  4. Save the changes
  5. Restart the service by running the following command
    service nginx restart
